Bowl turning transforms a chunk of wood into a shapely object with curves and contours displaying the grain so eloquently. With each bowl made, I find myself coming up with reasons why I need to keep it, each [turning] out so unique and beautiful. Since I do not buy new wood, I rely on a source of wood that varies in size, age, and species. All the wood is full of character and imperfections and I never know what each chunk of wood will reveal. It is a bit like unwrapping a present. I absolutely love the process of creating a wooden bowl and the results it brings. I would love for everyone to have a bowl to admire.
